HEY, WHAT’S UP? Deval Here

One thing I pride my self on is giving back to the community. Even though I’m not originally from Canada, while staying here in Kelowna, I try my best to give back to this beautiful place I’m apart of, for this short period of time, as much as I can.

On August 21st it was my honour to serve this great community by taking portraits of the awesome K9’s that serve as a strong influential part of the culture and social status here in Kelowna.  Bark In The Park was a great humanitarian initiative put on by the courageous event planning students from the Centre For Arts & Technology. The purpose was to raise funds to assist the local humane/pet society called Pets & People. To my surprise, Pets & People donate over 3000 hours of pet therapy services every year to people confined to hospitals rooms, cancer patients, or people who are physically and mentally challenged.

By the sound of it, Pets & People really do have their work cut out for them and need as much assistance as they can get, as they rely heavily on the City of Kelowna. Pets & People provide a service that benefits Canada as a whole, and when we look after the individuals within a group, the entire group becomes stronger.

Getting Back to the Fun.

Another thing about headlines is to use them to draw down the eye. So whether you use fun, humour, freak factor, intrigue, emotional appeal… think about drawing your reader/future client’s eye down the page to keep them reading)

Bark In The Park was an eventful day filled to the brim with bonding activities for owners and their beloved pets. Events consisted of: a Doggie and Me photo booth (supplied by yours truly for pet portraits (contact exposurephotography242), an awesome state-of-the-art obstacle course designed by the students of CATO, a splash park, and even, a Pet and Me art booth where owners were allowed to pose and get a drawing with their furry bundles of joy.

One part of the event I found to be very interesting was the celebrity guest speaker. Professional dog trainer, Brad Pattison, the writer of the book Unleashed “A Dogs Eye View Of Life With Humans”, Brad spoke strongly on understanding your dog and their needs. He also did a few training demonstrations with owners and their pets.

Overall, the event was a total success. A lot of patrons learned greatly and asked for the event to be done again. Attendees were able to take advantage of all of the awesome vendors that supported the event like Shaggy Chic, who promoted their mobile grooming services. Water Pooch, who promoted their waterproof and stink proof dog accessories, and also Fitness for Life, just to name a few.

I hope to be able to offer my services to this charity event again in the future. Even though it was my first time shooting pets, it was an awesome experience and I look forward to doing it again. As any pet lover will tell you, our four-legged friends have their own unique personalities, just like us. If you would like a fun photo-shoot with your furry friend, fell free to contact me. https://www.exposurephotography242.com/general-inquiries.
